Six people have been killed in separate Russian missile and other attacks across Ukraine. Three of the casualties were in Kyiv, including two men aged 45 and 25, and a 41-year-old woman, according to AFP.

On Saturday, January 18, Kyiv city authorities reported, citing AFP, that although Ukraine had managed to intercept the Russian missile strike using American Tactical Missile Systems, six people still lost their lives.

The report further noted that Russia frequently conducts airstrikes on Kyiv, but such missile attacks are rare. Kyiv’s air defense is stronger compared to other regions in Ukraine.

However, Moscow claims that its forces are advancing, with Russia’s Ministry of Defense stating that the missile strike targeted military installations in the capital Kyiv using long-range weapons.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged world leaders to apply pressure on Moscow to end its attacks on Ukraine.
